Ice cave tour

Let us take you on an unforgettable trip to a breathtaking ice cave on the edge of Vatnajökull glacier.

Your trip will begin at the glacier lagoon parking lot where you will board our super jeep and then we will drive you  on a country road only accessible by super jeeps to the glaciers edge. When we arrive at the „parking lot“ for the ice cave you will be given a helmet and crampons and then we will walk for about 10-25 minutes depending on what ice cave is the most beautiful at the time of your trip. When we get to the ice cave you can take your time to walk around and enjoy the amazing view, take some wonderful photos and make memories you will never forget.

The meeting point for all our trips is at the Jökulsárlón / Glacier lagoon parking lot.

Please be at the Jökulsárlón / Glacier lagoon parking lot 30 minutes BEFORE departure.

What‘s included
Included in all our trips is all the safety equipment needed for the tour you are going on. Fx. Helmets and crampons for everyone.

Duration
This trip takes around 2 - 2,5 hours.

Ice cave rules
In the ice caves we have only a few simple rules
1. Never take of your helmet.
2. Listen to your guide at all times.
3. Don‘t leave any trash.

What to wear
We recommend you wear good waterproof hiking shoes, and clothing suited to the weather. Waterproof clothing and outerwear are always best. We also recommend wearing layers as the weather here changes a lot and it‘s nice to be able to remove/put on clothes as needed.

What to bring
For this trip we recommend bringing:
-A camera
-Sunglasses and also sunscreen if the weather is really good.

Toilets
There are no toilets in the ice cave so we recommend you use the facilities at the glacier lagoon before departure.

Fitness level
For this trip you need to be fit enough to walk from the car to the ice caves which can take around 25 minutes each way.

Age restriction
For this trip we have an age limit of 10 years.
